Minimalistic Memorization
Line is a minimalist line memorization tool for actors looking to memorize lines quickly and effectively. The interface focuses on the essentials and is optimized to help get you ready for the big audition with a technological edge.
Design Considerations
The inception of this idea occurred in 2016 when I was offered an opportunity to audition for a movie. After receiving the script, I was instructed to learn several scenes and subsequently come in for an audition. Following my hacker instinct, I immediately jumped to Google to see if there were any tools available to me. When nothing caught my eye, I decided to build my own. The goal was a minimalistic, but effective line memorization tool that had a similar feel to covering the physical script with a piece of paper then moving the paper down line by line.
Some of the bigger challenges involved efficiently importing script data and integrating a virtual scene partner.
